How do I get my league's fixtures onto my club site?
For clubs in England, whose league runs on FA Full-Time. About five minutes, and you need no help from us to do it.
If your league runs on FA Full-Time, you copy one block of code out of Full-Time and paste it into your ClubPress admin. The FA's own fixtures table then appears on your site and stays current on its own. It takes about five minutes, and you need no help from us to do it.
Two things to check before you start
- Your league is in England, on FA Full-Time. This page is for you.
- Your league is in Ireland — DDSL, NDSL, LSL and the rest. Irish leagues do not run on Full-Time, so none of the steps below apply to you. There is a different route: if your league publishes its fixtures on SportLoMo, we can connect your site to your league's own site instead, and your fixtures and results then come in on their own through the day. That one is set up at our end, so email us at aaron@clubpress.app.
- You need a Full-Time login that shows a Media menu. It is the same login your club uses to report results. If yours has no Media menu, go to “My login does not show Media” below — it is one email to your league, then you come back here. If nobody at the club has a Full-Time login at all, go to “We have no Full-Time login”.
What you end up with: a fixtures table on your site that the FA keeps current. When your league moves a game, the table on your site moves with it. Nobody at the club retypes anything.
What it is not: we do not hold a copy of your fixtures. The table is the FA's, shown on your page. If a fixture is wrong in Full-Time it will be wrong on your site, and Full-Time is where you fix it.
Step 1 — Create the snippet in Full-Time
- Sign in at fulltime-admin.thefa.com. That is the admin side, not the public
fulltime.thefa.com. - Click Media, then Code Snippets.
- Pick Club - Fixtures as the type.
- Choose your Look & feel, the division you want, and the season.
- Click Create.
- Copy the Embed code. It is a block of code. You do not need to understand it — copy all of it, from the first character to the last.
There are five other snippet types on that screen: Table, Recent Results, Upcoming fixtures, Team - Fixtures / Results and Club - Results. You can add those later. Start with Club - Fixtures.
Keep that browser tab open. If your club plays in more than one league, read “We are in more than one league” before you go further — you will be doing this once per league, and it is easier in one sitting.
Step 2 — Paste it into ClubPress
- Sign in to your club admin, open Fixtures, then the FA Full-Time tab.
- Click Add a league.
- In League, put the league's name — that name appears above the table on your site, so write it the way a parent would recognise it: “Hampshire Youth League”, not “HYL Div 3”.
- Paste what you copied into Embed code from Full-Time. All of it.
- Full-Time league id is optional and worth filling in: it is the number after
league=in your league's address onfulltime.thefa.com, and it adds a link from your page to the league's own table. You can paste the whole address in and we will take the number out of it. - Leave Show on the fixtures page on, and Save.
- Doing more than one league? Click Add a league again. The tables stack down your fixtures page in the order you added them.
If your paste is rejected, the box tells you why — we only accept the FA's own code, and the message names what was wrong with it. Nearly always it is one of two things: you copied part of the block rather than all of it, or you copied from somewhere other than Full-Time's Embed code box. Go back to step 1 and copy the whole block again.
Your snippet runs sealed off from the rest of your site. That is deliberate — the FA's code can draw its table and nothing else, and it cannot reach your admin or anyone's login.
Step 3 — Check it
Open your fixtures page the way a parent would: signed out, on a phone. You should see the FA's table with your next games in it.
If it is empty, in order of likelihood: the wrong division was picked at step 1, or your league has not published fixtures for that season yet.
“My login does not show Media”
Your Full-Time login is granted by your league — not by the FA, and not by us. The league also decides which menus you see once you are in. So this is a request to your league secretary, and it is a small one.
Here is the email. Change the bracketed parts.
Subject: Full-Time access for [Your Club] — website fixtures
Hi [name],
I look after [Your Club]'s website. I would like to put our league fixtures on it using Full-Time's code snippets, so they stay current without us retyping them each week.
Could you give me a Full-Time login that includes the Media tab? I am [Your Name], [your role at the club], at [your email address].
If it helps, in Full-Time that is People → List People → Create new, ticking send login invite. If I already have an account and it is the Media tab that is missing, it is Setup → League Options → define the roles and security within your league.
Thanks,
[Your Name]
The menu paths are in there on purpose. Your league secretary is a volunteer too and has probably never been asked this before. Telling them where the button is saves a fortnight of emails.
“We have no Full-Time login”
You still get a fixtures page, and you can set it up yourself in a couple of minutes.
- Find your league on the public
fulltime.thefa.comand copy the address of its page. The number afterleague=is your league id. - In your club admin, go to Fixtures → FA Full-Time → Add a league, name it, and leave Embed code from Full-Time empty.
- Put the id — or the whole address — in Full-Time league id, and save.
Your fixtures page then carries a link straight to your league's table on Full-Time. It is worse than the table, because a parent leaves your site to see the games, so do step 1 when you can. Can't find the id? Send us the link to your league's page and we will do this bit for you.
“We are in more than one league”
Common — youth teams in one league, the adults or the women's team in another.
The FA is explicit about it: “The Club Fixtures/Results will only be for the teams in a particular league and will not work across multiple leagues.”
So it is one snippet per league. Run step 1 once for each, add a row for each in step 2, and your fixtures page ends up with one FA table per league, stacked down the page and labelled.
Two things catch clubs out here:
- A Full-Time login is per league. If you are in three leagues, you were invited by three different league secretaries and you have three separate accounts.
- You can link them into one sign-in. From the Admin Home page, click “View your leagues / Add Full-Time sign in”, enter the username and password of the other account, then Sign in & link. You need each account's credentials to do it — so collect the logins first, then link.
One question, and it takes you ten seconds
Next time you are signed into Full-Time, tell us: do you see a Downloads tab?
Not everyone does. It sits on a higher permission than the Media tab, and it is your league's to grant. If you have it, there is a second thing we can do with your fixtures beyond showing the FA's table, and we will come back to you about it. If you do not, nothing on this page changes and everything above still works.
