Privacy policy

Plain English, because you're a volunteer, not a lawyer. Last updated 16 September 2026.

ClubPress is run by Rendella Media Ltd ("we", "us"). This page explains what personal information we collect through this website and our outreach, why, and what you can do about it.

Who this covers

This policy covers two groups of people: anyone who contacts us through this site or by email, and committee members of football clubs we get in touch with about ClubPress. It does not cover the members, players or parents of clubs that use ClubPress — each club has its own privacy notice for that, and we process that data on the club's behalf.

What we collect and why

When you fill in the enquiry form

We ask for your club's name, your name, your email address, your club's current website (optional) and a message (optional). We also record the time and the IP address the form was sent from, purely to stop spam and abuse. We use this to reply to you, build a mockup of your club's site and, if you go ahead, set up your account. The lawful basis is that you've asked us to (taking steps before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

When we contact your club first

We sometimes email clubs we think would benefit from ClubPress, using contact details the club has published for that purpose: a secretary's or committee address on the club website, league listings or public social media pages. We rely on legitimate interest to do this: it is business-to-business contact about a service relevant to running a club, we keep it infrequent and relevant, and you can opt out at any time. We keep a note of which clubs we've contacted and whether they replied, so we don't pester anyone twice.

Website usage

This site sets only the cookies needed to make the enquiry form work securely. We don't run advertising trackers and we don't sell or share visitor data with anyone.

Opting out

If you'd rather we didn't email you or your club, reply to any message saying so, or email hello@clubpress.io. We'll add you to our do-not-contact list straight away, and you won't hear from us again unless you get in touch.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for up to two years so we can pick a conversation back up if you come back to it, then deleted. Outreach notes are kept only as long as needed to avoid contacting a club again after they've said no. If you become a ClubPress customer, your details are kept for as long as you're a customer and for the period after that required by tax and accounting law.

Who sees it

Only Rendella Media Ltd. We use a small number of suppliers to run the service, such as hosting and email providers, who process data on our instructions and under contract. Data is stored in the European Union.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we're using it. Email hello@clubpress.io and we'll sort it, normally within a few days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled something, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
